Location:

Miyazaki, located in the south of the island Kyushu, is considered to be a tropical and relaxed location. Snowboarding is not a thing here but surfing sure is. The area is famous for its beautiful beaches, best steaks in Japan, and delicious mangoes.

Living:

Compared with most large cities in Japan, Miyazaki has a relatively cheap cost of living. With an airport nearby, you can also fly anywhere from Kyoto to Tokyo for a quick visit. The most popular mode of transportation in the city is #1 car, #2 bicycle/motorcycles, #3 bus.

Experience:

Miyazaki is nothing like Tokyo. People are laid back and skyscrapers are not a thing. Instead of experiencing the busy and exciting Tokyo, you will experience real Japan and how most of the population of this country live their daily lives. With your week-long trip while employed you may travel to any city of your choosing to experience ancient cities like Kyoto to the big city of Tokyo. Depending on how you spend your free time, you will learn to understand and speak the Japanese language.
